Travel Time

Tomorrow we head to Ashtabula, Ohio to talk in their Sacrament meeting. We will take our time and see what we may capture on camera.

We had visitors from headquarters in Salt Lake City visit our humble operation. They were great !
Best part ?? They bought lunch. Received some valuable hints. You guys and gal are always welcome.

October Newsletter Article for Pheasant Ward

This past week has been really busy. We were visited by a team of people from FamilySearch this week. They showed us some really simple solutions to taking photographs of two pages at once. So now we are taking the plunge to try to learn how to do that on our own. We would sure appreciate your prayers to help us with that.

We had a young woman move into our area. She has two little children who are 5 and 1. They are so cute and very mild mannered. One of the sisters in our Ward gave them a ride to church Sunday and they stayed for the whole block and the Linger Longer. She was baptized in March and the Hiram Sisters called us and asked us to find her since she moved to our area. Our young Elders found her and we followed up with her. She rode with us to Stake Conference too. The Ward and our missionaries are all working very hard to further the work in our area. Everyone is planting seeds and it is so rewarding to watch them start to grow. We have a great Ward and Stake.

A Linger Longer is a Potluck. Everyone brings a hot dish, and a salad or dessert that they would have made for their family with a little extra food for those who come that didn’t know about the potluck. It is a fellowshipping time to get to know someone you haven’t met or catch up on old friends in the Ward that you haven’t talked to in a while. We have a great distance area to travel in our Ward. Everyone pulled together to help with what was needed. The gym was packed with people and we had a great time. The food was an International Theme so we had Neil’s great chili! There was taco salad, meat balls, yummy salads and delicious desserts too.

Our FHE family went to Katie’s Korner for homemade ice cream this week. The 2-year-old went around the table for a bite of everyone’s ice cream. So cute. That reminds me of home. Our Stake President challenged all of the children to do the next FHE with something he talked about in Stake Conference. He held up his fingers and said, “Number 1, your Heavenly Father loves you. number 2, your Heavenly Father wants you to love Him, and number 3, your Heavenly Father wants you to love your neighbors.” They remembered it very well.

Zone Conference was awesome. We had our Stake President and our Mission President and his wife there. The Stake President taught us about listening for the real issue with people, the power of 3 with your companionship and the Holy Ghost, the growth development of a Monarch Butterfly as compared to the growth development of new members of the church, and a powerful testimony. Our Mission President has a great knowledge of the scriptures and brings them to life when he teaches. The Spirit was strong and we left feeling so good about our missionary work and being on a mission at this time and in this place.

We are so grateful to be here and grateful for the learning and growing we are experiencing on our mission. We can see so much difference in the young Elders growth and have to admit this has been very humbling and worth it. The quote, “I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it” really applies to a senior mission. We love our mission and mostly our companions. We love and miss you all.
